MANALI is situated in Kullu Himachal Pradesh , Manali is a valley of KULLU district which is 40 km away from KULLU , and its height is (1950 mtr / 6398 ft )

Manali is named after the SANATAN HINDU LAWGIVER MANU , and the name of MANALI is regarded as the derivate of “ MANU – ALAYA ” which literally means MANU’S residence . when the great flood in Manali , the sage MANU stepped on the ark to recreate human life .


HADIMBA DEVI temple is 2 km from the mall MANALI , Temple was built in 1553 AD by maharaja Bahadur Singh , the inside of temple there is a small cave , and around the temple there are forests / DEODAR trees , that attract people from the world wide , temple is totally builded with wooden and it looks very attractive .

Nagar Castle is located in Nagar castle is located in Kullu district , it is 20 km from Manali market , Nagar was the capital of the erstwhile Kullu Rajas for about 1400 years . it was founded by the VISUDH PAL and remained as the state headquarters until the capital was transformed to KULLU by Raja Jagat Singh . Nagar Castle was built by Raja Sidh Singh more then 500 years ago , according to the legend , he used stone from the abandoned Palace of Rana Bhonsal to built the castle . he ordered the laborers to from a human chain over the Beas river connecting its left and right banks to transfer the stones manually , the Castle survived the earthquake of 1905. While most houses in the valley and the nearby city of Jawa were completely ruined , the Castle use of earthquake -proof techniques helped it sustain despite the calamity .


Kullu was declared to be a district of Punjab in 1963 and on NOVEMBER 01 1966 it became a district of HIMACHAL PRADESH. Kasol is a small village in Kullu Himachal Pradesh situated along the river . kasol is a tourist attraction that is rapidly gaining fame as a very popular hub for trackers. Kasol is situated in Parvati Valley, on the banks of the Parvati River, on the way of Kullu Manikaran.


Manikaran is situated in the Parvati Valley on River Parvati, northeast in the Kullu Bhuntar , it is at an altitude of the 1760 m and it is located 4 km ahead of Kasol and around 35 km from Kullu . Manikaran is a one of the most popular place in Himachal, this small village attract tourists visiting Manali and Kullu to its natural Hot Spring, an experimental geothermal energy plant has also been set up here.

1. The Mall Shimla

Mall road is the main street in Shimla , the mall was opened in 1887, Shimla is the capital city of Himachal Pradesh , India . constructed during British colonial rule, many popular film personalities have performed on its stage. the mall road is located a level below the ridge. the offices of municipal corporation, fire service and police headquarters are located here. automobiles, except emergency vehicles are not allowed on this road. A Himachal emporium that offers handicraft products of Himachal Pradesh like locally designed woolen clothes, branded clothes, pottery items , woolen products and jewellery is also located here . Shimla mall is very popular for the hill ridge beauty ( hill nature view ) .

2. Jakhu temple

Jakhu temple is an ancient temple in Shimla dedicated to the Hindu deity HANUMAN , it is situated on Jakhu hill , it is around 2.5 km east of the ridge at a height of 2,455m ( 8,054 ft) above sea level , according to the Ramayana , Hanuman stopped at the location to rest while searching for the SANJIVNI BOOTI to revive LAKSHMANA . A giant 108 feet high idol of Hanuman was unveiled at Jakhu Hanuman temple on 4 November 2010. at 108 feet, it surpasses the statue of CHRIST THE REDEEMER , which measures at 98 feet in RIO DE JABEIRO , BRAZIL . the cost of construction was rs 1.5 crores.


Lakkar bazaar is a marketplace adjoining the ridge in Shimla, India, it is specially famous for wooden articles , toys . lakkar bazaar is known for wooden toys made by small group of sikh carpenters who settled there a century ago from Hoshiarpur . Wooden walking sticks are famous . Lakkar bazaar was like a small village in itself. so many tourists buy the wooden toys from there .


The building that houses the institute was originally built as a home for LORD DUFFERIN, VICEROY OF INDIA from 1884 – 1888 and was called the VICERGAL LODGE . it housed all the subsequent viceroys and governors – general of INDIA . it occupied observatory hill , one of the seven hills that Shimla is built upon.

The building was designed by HENRY IRWIN , an architect in the public works department . the VICEREGAL LODGE and electricity as early as 1888 , much before the rest of the town of Shimla


Kufri is a small hill station in Shimla district HP , but this is very famous for tourists attraction ! kufri is located 20 km from Shimla market , in Kufri there is many activities and adventure sports are organized here during the winter season , and winter carnival is organized every year , it is a big attraction for the tourists who come here only to see them .


Kalka – Shimla railway journey is very beautiful , it is a one of the best tourist attraction in Shimla ,the railway was built between 1898 and 1903 to connect Shimla , the summer capital of India during the British raj , with the rest of the Indian rail system.


Dharamshala is the district headquarters of Kangra district in India . it was formerly known as beautiful city. Dharamshala surrounded by cedar forests on the edge of the Himalayas. It was part of the British province of Punjab. The administrative headquarters of the district were initially at Kangra , but were moved to Dharamshala in 1855. Dharamshala is 1 km from Kangra.


Himachal Pradesh has only one cricket stadium which is located in Dharamshala district of Himachal Pradesh , the town of Dharamshala is best known Internationally as the home of the Dalai Lama of Tibet , the first One Day International (ODI) at this stadium was played between India and England on 27 January 2013. England won the match by 7 wickets. The first Test at this stadium was played between India and Australia from 25-29 March 2017 .


Mcleod ganj is a hill station near Dharamshala , popular among trackers , there is many Tibetan temples in Mcleod ganj , it is known as Little Lhasa or Dhasa because of its large population of Tibetans , the Tibetan government-in-exile is headquartered in Mcleod ganj.


The dal lake in Dharamshala is named after its eponymous counterpart in Jammu and Kashmir. The lake spread across 1 square kilometer and resembles the lake at Kashmir. It is one of the popular picnic spot and is surrounded by the thick deodar and juniper forests


One of the oldest and important monastery , Gyuto monastery was established by the Disciple of the first Dalai Lama in 1474 in eastern Tibet . it was re established near Dharamshala after chines invaded Tibet and forced Tibet to flee to India.


Namgyal Monastery was established by the third Dalai Lama , was relocated to Dharamshala following the 1959 Tibetan uprising. The monastery is one the major learning and cultural centers of the Tibetan populated in Dharamshala .


A perfect place for adventurers and hikers , Kereri lake is an unexpected gem of the Dhauladhar range. Its not easily accessible by roads and therefore not a much visited site but its isolation has helped in its preservation . this place also serves as a base camp for trekkers moving towards Dhauladhar range .

Best places in DALHOUSIE

It was in the year 1854 that sir Donald Mcleod of the British empire suggested that this place be named after the famous victory of India – lord DALHOUSIE . it was in 1861 that the Gurdaspur district. Dalhousie become a division of Himachal Pradesh in the year of 1966.


This small town is also known as the mini Switzerland or the Switzerland of India , this place provides tourists a unique combination of forests , lake and pastures . Satdhara falls are one of the most popular sightseeing attraction of Dalhousie . perched at an altitude of 2036 meters above the sea level , the place has derived its name from the seven beautiful springs , which are believed to have several therapeutic values . the reason behind this is said to be the water in these springs as it comprises of mica , known as Gandhak in local language .


Kalatop is one of the most popular destination or sightseeing In Dalhousie Himachal Pradesh and this is specially known for the lush green surroundings and snow capped Himalayan peaks .Kalatop is located approximately 12 km from Dalhousie and it can be easily reached through trekking.
